Agresti Energy and State of Indiana Sign Letter of Intent to Explore Advanced Waste-to-Energy Solutions
Collaboration will evaluate breakthrough fiber conversion technology with the potential to reduce waste management costs, recover valuable energy, and create new opportunities for municipalities and industry.
FISHERS, INDIANA — November 2, 2026 — Agresti Energy, an Indiana-based developer of advanced cellulosic biofuel conversion technology, today announced the execution of a Letter of Intent (LOI) with the Indiana Office of Energy Development (OED) to explore the technical, economic, regulatory, and environmental feasibility of advanced waste-to-energy conversion solutions in Indiana.
The agreement establishes a framework for evaluating opportunities to transform waste materials into valuable energy resources, potentially addressing two of the most significant challenges facing municipalities and industry: escalating waste management costs and growing demand for reliable, cost-effective energy.
Central to the initiative is Agresti Energy's proprietary Fiber Conversion Process (FCP), an advanced technology designed to unlock additional energy value from cellulosic waste materials.
The LOI specifically identifies the opportunity to explore whether FCP could eliminate waste destruction and conversion costs for state and local municipalities while creating critically needed energy for Indiana.
Turning an Environmental Liability into an Energy Asset
Across the United States and internationally, municipalities, waste management companies, industrial operators, and energy producers face increasing pressure to manage waste more efficiently, reduce environmental impacts, and develop economically viable energy resources.
Agresti Energy is developing technology intended to address these interconnected challenges by recovering energy value from organic and cellulosic waste streams that might otherwise represent a substantial disposal expense.
The Indiana initiative creates a framework to evaluate FCP's potential to deliver a fundamentally different economic approach to waste management — one in which waste materials can become feedstocks for energy production rather than simply costs of doing business.
“This Letter of Intent represents an important milestone for Agresti Energy and our vision for the future of waste conversion. We believe the next generation of waste management must go beyond disposal and conventional recovery methods. Our objective is to demonstrate how advanced fiber conversion can unlock additional energy value from materials that have historically imposed substantial costs on municipalities and industry. We welcome the opportunity to explore these possibilities with Indiana's Office of Energy Development.”
Evaluating a Pathway Toward Scalable Energy Solutions
Under the LOI, Agresti Energy and OED intend to collaborate in evaluating several areas, including:
- Technology and economics: Assessing the technical readiness, economic feasibility, timing, and potential benefits of advanced waste-to-energy conversion.
- Potential project locations: Exploring suitable sites in Indiana for future waste conversion applications.
- Energy production: Evaluating opportunities to produce reliable, cost-effective energy from waste resources.
- Regulatory considerations: Identifying applicable federal, state, and local regulatory pathways.
- Financing and development: Exploring potential federal assistance and ways to align private capital with viable project opportunities.
- Economic development: Evaluating workforce, supply chain, and educational opportunities associated with future development.
The initiative is intended to assess the feasibility of potential future applications. Any subsequent projects would require appropriate technical validation, commercial arrangements, regulatory approvals, financing, and separate agreements.
Opportunity Extends Beyond Municipal Waste
Although the initial exploration is focused on Indiana, Agresti Energy believes the underlying challenges and potential applications extend across multiple major industries.
Waste management companies, environmental service providers, pulp and paper producers, agricultural processors, utilities, and renewable energy developers handle substantial volumes of materials that may contain recoverable energy value.
Agresti sees opportunities to evaluate its technology alongside existing waste management and energy infrastructure, potentially creating additional value from available feedstocks while reducing the burdens associated with residual waste.
As the company advances its technology and commercial development strategy, Agresti welcomes discussions with qualified industrial operators, energy companies, infrastructure developers, and strategic investors interested in evaluating potential applications and collaborative development opportunities.
Advancing the Economics of Waste and Energy
The convergence of rising waste management costs, increasing energy demand, and pressure to improve environmental performance presents a substantial opportunity for innovative conversion technologies.
Agresti Energy's long-term vision is to help establish a commercially scalable approach that combines improved resource utilization, energy recovery, and economic value creation.
The opportunity is straightforward: recover more energy from waste, reduce the economic burden of disposal, and create new value from resources already available.
